FROM DOUBT TO EVIDENCE
A useful answer starts with being able to verify it
Itaca organizes the search so that you can reach relevant information sooner, without hiding where it comes from.
1. Ask
Write the clinical question with the necessary context: population, setting, intervention or comparison, and the type of response needed.
2. Revise
Read the synthesis and open the citations that support the important points. Check the date, population, design, and scope of each source.
3. Go deeper
Ask follow-up questions without losing the context of the conversation. If the question requires more evidence, continue with Deep Research.
Clinical questions you can turn into a verifiable search
These examples show the type of query; they do not replace the evaluation of a specific patient.
Guides and recommendations
“What do recent guidelines recommend for this clinical scenario and what population are they based on?”
Comparison of options
“What evidence compares these two alternatives and what are their main limitations?”
Security and tracking
“What alarm signs, controls, or follow-up criteria do the sources highlight?”
Academic background
“Summarize the state of the evidence, disagreements, and remaining open questions.”

PROFESSIONAL CONTROL
Citations allow you to check every answer
A visible reference allows going beyond a convincing answer. Open the original document and confirm that it actually supports the claim.
- Current events: Check the date and see if there is a more recent recommendation.
- Population: Confirm that the participants and the context resemble the case you are evaluating.
- Quality: Distinguish between guidelines, reviews, primary studies, and opinions.
- Applicability: consider comorbidities, resources, preferences, and the care setting.

The source must be able to withstand a second reading
Itaca provides references so you can review the backing and detect limits, nuances, or discrepancies before using the information.
Quick response or Deep Research: choose depending on the question
Not all doubts require the same level of research.

Designed for clinical questions, not generic conversations
In a general-purpose AI, you must build the context, ask for references, and organize the research on your own. Itaca starts from a clinical workflow: it responds with sources, preserves the thread for follow-up questions, and offers a deeper research mode when you need it.
Difference does not eliminate the need to review. It makes it more visible and practical. Discover the others as well clinical functions of Itaca.
Frequently asked questions about AI clinical responses
What type of sources appear in the answers?
References depend on the question and the located evidence. The important thing is that you can open them and verify authorship, date, population, method, and relevance. The presence of a citation does not mean that all sources have the same quality.
Can I ask follow-up questions?
Yes. You can go deeper, ask for a comparison, or clarify a point while maintaining the context of the previous conversation. If you change the patient, population, or problem, it is best to make the new context explicit.
When is it best to use Deep Research?
When a brief response is not enough: for example, to contrast multiple guidelines, review literature on a complex question, explore a differential diagnosis, or prepare academic material. Deep Research produces more extensive research; even so, it requires critical reading.
Does Itaca make clinical decisions for the doctor?
No. Itaca helps find, synthesize, and organize information. Diagnosis, treatment, and decisions on how to apply the evidence remain the responsibility of the professional.
Can a response with citations contain errors?
Yes. An AI-generated response may omit nuances, interpret a source incorrectly, or fail to reflect the most recent evidence. That is why Itaca shows references and the professional must review the points that could change a decision.
